The monitoring technology will help improve care for patients

A care service has unveiled 24-hour remote monitoring equipment to improve residents’ safety.

The Crescent in Batley will offer a new suite of services from leading personal alarm provider, IndeMe.

The technology supports independent living for residents who have a range of needs including frailty, epilepsy, dementia, learning disabilities or those likely to require regular assistance with issues such as falling. The hub is connected to a specialist remote monitoring centre that can alert the user and caregivers or emergency services when required.

Paula Chamberlain, founder of The Crescent, said: “Technology can be daunting for many, especially older or vulnerable people. We wanted a technology partner that was not only smart, but friendly too. The IndeMe devices are intuitive and simple to use, and powered by state of the art technology.

“However, in between our visits the worry of loneliness, isolation and even injury can begin for both our clients and their families. The IndeMe system is the perfect way to bridge this gap between our home visits. Knowing our clients can feel safe and secure in their home 24 hours a day means the world to us, and we know it takes the pressure off families who are struggling to get through another lockdown distanced from the loved ones who need them most.”

The system is made up of an easy to use Hub which plugs directly into the user’s telephone line, and an alarm pendant which can be worn around the neck or wrist. When users need assistance, they press the pendant alarm button and a member of the IndeMe Care and Response Team will answer the call. They will then talk to the user via the IndeMe Hub to determine what type of help is required – whether it be a call to a family member, neighbour or the emergency services.
