Demand for more accessible mental health services has surged since the COVID-19 pandemic

US wellness company Open Mind Health (OMH) has launched a mental telehealth practice which used a personalised ‘wellness track’ to help its users.

Through the platform clients can access its team of psychiatrists, therapists, life coaches and healthcare consultants for help with a range of mental health conditions.

These ‘wellness tracks’ will allow its customers to set up monthly plans which use an evidence-based approach to allow them to regain control of their mental health.

Using the Kareo software, both its users and clinicians can customise these plans, taking advantage of the platform’s mental telehealth solutions.

Healingclouds is a platform which recently hit its £100,000 crowdfunding target.

OMH utilises a number of different telehealth platforms to allow its services to be accessed on any device, with video consultations playing a key part in this, as it offers at least four one-hour sessions per month with every plan.

Using these technologies has previously shown it can improve outcomes, demonstrated by Frog Systems which used its software to allow users to share their personal mental health experiences.

This approach can reduce costs and increase access for those who need mental health support, with the demand for such services drastically increasing since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

All membership plans begin with an assessment where clients collaborate with their provider to determine which track is best to address their challenges.

Services range from psychiatry, psychotherapy, and medication management to fitness and music therapy, with each wellness track offering help for different issues and conditions such as ADHD, relationship problems, trauma and addiction.

The platform’s clinicians also have expertise in addressing complex situations where risk management is critical.

Stephanie Robinson, chief of quality at OMH, said: “The OMH difference is that we teach people how to apply practical skills that really work to improve their daily life and reduce emotional suffering.

“For example, our Transcending Trauma track helps people work through difficult and painful memories to heal and move on from traumatic experiences – not just push the pain away or ignore what happened.”

The company’s founder, Dr. Craig Beach, added: “mental health is essential to overall health. Only by customising and targeting care utilising evidence-based treatments are people truly able to achieve and maintain mental health and wellbeing.”
