MedTech Innovator has selected 65 startups for its 2025 accelerator, choosing just four per cent of applicants from a global pool of nearly 1,500.

The four-month programme supports early and mid-stage medical device, diagnostic, and digital health companies, which will now compete for a share of US$800,000 in non-dilutive funding.

This year’s cohort includes companies from 17 US states and 13 countries, selected after a competitive evaluation process.

The Los Angeles-based accelerator invited 213 companies—around 15 per cent of applicants—to pitch at its MedTech Innovator Road Tour events in Los Angeles, College Park (Maryland), and Dublin.

The final 65 companies were selected after receiving feedback from 430 subject matter experts.

Participants will receive mentorship and strategic guidance, as well as access to MTI’s network of manufacturers, investors, providers, payers, and other healthcare stakeholders.

According to MedTech Innovator, alumni have raised a collective US$10 billion in follow-on funding and brought over 400 products to market.

MedTech Innovator founder and CEO, Paul Grand, said: “MedTech Innovator’s accelerator is a comprehensive platform for risk mitigation and value creation that helps the world’s most promising medtech startups become investable.

“Over the next four months, our 2025 cohort will work closely with MTI’s extensive network of mentors and partners to advance these innovative technologies toward US market access and public health benefit.”

The selected companies span six focus areas: cardiovascular and interventional, diagnostic and monitoring, surgical and orthopaedic, femtech and urology, neurology, and regenerative medicine and wound care.

Notable participants include Kelvin Health (Bulgaria), working on thermal imaging diagnostics; Icometrix (Belgium), specialising in neurological imaging analysis; and Lady Technologies (San Francisco), focused on women’s health innovation.

Five companies will join a plastic surgery accelerator track in partnership with the American Society for Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), while up to eight will participate in the Heart and Brain Health Accelerator, run in collaboration with the American Heart Association Ventures and its Center for Health Technology and Innovation (CHTI).

The programme begins at the invitation-only Innovator Summit from 24–26 June in Mountain View, California, where leadership teams will meet MTI’s partners, alumni, and other stakeholders.

Since its inception, MedTech Innovator has reviewed nearly 14,000 applications and supported over 700 graduates.
