NHS North of England Commercial Procurement Collaborative (NOE CPC) launched its Quick Quote tool last October and it is already proving to be a great asset for clients of its IT Hardware and Services (LINK3) framework.

The easy-to-use tool enables customers to send details of their specific requirements to awarded suppliers in whichever Lots they choose so they can contact purchasers directly with quotes that meet their needs.

Duncan Lean, a buyer at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust, told NOE CPC how the tool had improved his experience.

He said: “The Quick Quote tool is a brilliant asset for procurement professionals, and I would highly recommend it to other NHS trusts as an effective route to market for both large and small-scale purchases.

“It is very easy to use and saves me so much time in the sourcing process, especially with IT procurement, where many vendors offer identical off-the-shelf products.”

NOE CPC, which was established in 2007, provides collaborative and bespoke procurement solutions to the NHS and other public sector organisations such as police forces, fire services and councils.

It saves the NHS money by harnessing its collective buying power and using its industry expertise.

Its Quick Quote tool is available to its website users who have access to the IT Hardware and Services (LINK3) framework. All public sector organisations can register for access to the framework. NOE CPC has an extensive portfolio of free to access agreements with easy online access. The IT Hardware and Services (LINK3) framework is free to access and available to the NHS and wider public sector. It covers all end user device requirements including desktop PC’s, laptops, tablet devices, printers and specialist healthcare related IT Hardware such as laptop carts and clinical displays.

John Smith, Interim Contracts and Procurement Manager for Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, said NOE CPC’s IT frameworks were straightforward and easy to use.

“The technology market is moving so quickly and the IT Hardware (LINK2) and IT Enterprise frameworks enable us to purchase standard IT equipment as and when we need it, and having the additional support of the category team and being able to reach out to them for advice is a useful addition to the agreement,” he said.

Frances May, Senior Procurement Manager for Non-Medical Divisions, Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said: “NOE CPC ICT frameworks are really useful for planned work and one of the first places we look to in order to fulfil our requirements.”

NOE CPC is hoping to add to its Quick Quote tool to more of its frameworks in the future as part of its expanding digital toolkit.
