The Access Group has acquired Oysta Technology Ltd, to expand its ecosystem of technology-enabled care (TEC).

Oysta Technology specialises in care tech solutions that enable safe, independent living for vulnerable individuals and relieve pressure on health and social care systems.

Access Health, Support and Care (HSC) plans to integrate Oysta into its ecosystem of software solutions designed to champion responsible telecare technology; technology that supports a fair and inclusive, democratic society.

By accelerating digital transformation and embedding assistive technology services as a first choice for health and care prevention, early intervention and support Access HSC aims to tackle long-term challenges across the UK’s care provision in the NHS, Local Government, and beyond.

Mario Zuccaro, Founder of Oysta, said: “Over 17 years ago, I embarked on a journey to foster inclusivity, improve the lives of Vulnerable Independent People (VIPs), and transform the care delivery paradigm.

“I am convinced that the Access Group is the ideal partner to realise Oysta’s mission.

“Together, we will prioritise the safety of VIPs both at home and on the go, empower social care teams with informed decision-making, facilitate preventative care, and bridge the gap between health and social care.”

The acquisition of Oysta also marks Access HSC’s expansion into Europe, as it continues to grow its digital offering within health and social care.

Its strategic vision is to create an end-to-end ecosystem of care using digital technologies and support independent living at a fraction of the cost of other care alternatives.

Oysta currently works with a wide range of partners in the UK and Ireland, including Local Authorities, Social Care Providers, Housing Associations, Care Homes and NHS Trusts, to help manage immediate and long-term care needs.

Its devices are designed to keep vulnerable individual people (VIPs) safe and are expected to integrate with other Access HSC solutions, such as Access Assure in the next year to support a seamless continuum of care.

Steve Sawyer, Managing Director of Access HSC, said: “Oysta’s cutting-edge technology and user-friendly devices will complement our existing technology-enabled care solution, Access Assure.

“Its solutions – including care and lone-worker devices, wearable GPS alarms and sensors – allow organisations to manage and respond efficiently to immediate and longer-term care needs.

“With Oysta we can help healthcare professionals and family members take a much more proactive and preventative approach to care.”
