Software to support early intervention in social care

Digital care software provider Servelec will provide its Mosaic Social Care Case Management Software to West Lothian Council in Scotland.

The council’s existing social care system has been operational since 1998 and has seen many iterations and upgrades over the years.

A spokesperson for the council said it was looking to modernise its software and sought a social care case management system via the Scotland Excel Framework, a non-profit organisation serving Scotland’s 32 local authorities.

The council selected Mosaic, Servelec’s social care case management software, which lets care professionals manage adult, children, and finance cases on one platform.

A spokesperson at West Lothian Council said the tool will support early intervention, which is key to helping vulnerable children and young people make positive steps into adulthood and providing better outcomes for families.

“We look forward to working constructively with Servelec following this tender award.

“Their Mosaic case management software will assist our staff in delivering essential services for West Lothian residents.”

David McKinney, managing director for local government at Servelec, said the provider integrates software solutions across social care, education, youth services and healthcare to share important information.

This helps local authorities save time and reduce paperwork, freeing them up to care for the people who need it most.

Mosaic can also integrate health and social care data, enabling professionals to collaborate directly, and helping to provide vital care more efficiently.

The system simplifies how social workers record and monitor pathways and aligns your data with data from other services to save time and minimise risks. Mosaic is highly configurable, supporting local practice and processes to adapt to the changing needs of a local authority.

McKinney said: “It is fantastic to be awarded the first social care contract through the Scotland Excel Framework.

“Servelec is committed to supporting Scotland’s local authorities, and we’re excited to begin implementing Mosaic, our leading social care case management software at West Lothian Council.”

This is the first time a social care contract has been issued through the Scotland Excel Framework.

The implementation of Mosaic is expected to be completed in March 2023.
