Cambric Systems, the supplier of healthcare patient data software solutions for use in secondary and community based healthcare settings, has announced that NHS Fife has further extended its use of Morse.
Non-Morse users can now see details of patient appointments recorded in the Morse system via the Health Board’s central Health and Social Care Portal supplied by Orion Health.
This latest development is a collaboration between Orion Health and Cambric and was initiated by the Mental Health and Learning Disabilities service, which is managed by the Fife Health and Social Care Partnership.
It is intended to provide increased efficiency, and support improved continuity of care for patients.
A spokesperson for NHS Fife said:
“Our Health and Social Care Portal is an invaluable resource for our clinicians, providing secure and efficient access to vital information contained in patient records.
“The ability to see upcoming appointments within our Health and Social Care Portal helps make accessing such information quicker and easier, freeing up more time for our clinicians to deliver frontline patient care.”
The enhanced solution, which went live in December 2022, increases secure information sharing between departments.
Now all patient appointments, whether booked by Community teams in Morse, or by Acute teams in TrakCare, can be viewed by clinicians in the central Health and Social Care Portal.
This new development avoids the duplication of recording appointments on two separate systems, saving significant admin resources and providing a more complete view of patient care pathways, increasingly valuable when considering wider care processes such as discharge scheduling.
Eric Blackley, Client Success Director, Orion Health, said:
“At Orion Health we’re passionate about sharing health and social data for clinicians and caregivers.
“The partnership with Cambric enriches the patient record within the NHS Fife Health and Social Care Portal and will help give efficiencies in accessing information. Another step forward for sharing patient and citizen information.”
Garry Sherriff, MD at Cambric, added:
“At Cambric we believe that collaboration across the healthcare networks will provide a better service to both patients and staff.
“NHS Fife and the Fife Health and Social Care Partnership provided the specification and we have built a strong working relationship with Orion Health during this project, to the benefit of all concerned.
“We are looking forward to future such projects that streamline working practices for busy clinicians, helping to reduce stress and avoid burnout, while also benefiting patients.”
