A new UK health tech cluster will officially launch this week.
The West Midlands Health Technologies Cluster will hold its formal launch at the University of Warwick on Friday.
The launch of the cluster, which began operating six months ago, coincides with a conference about the UK’s diagnostics sector.
Executive chair of the cluster, David Kidney, says: “The West Midlands Health Technologies Cluster is already a strong and dynamic alliance of regional businesses.
“Their health technologies products and services cover medical devices, digital services, data systems – and diagnostics. We have great buy-in also from professional services, universities and the NHS.
“We have been determined to work collaboratively with other organisations which offer business support services. This has earned us a reputation as an effective team player, able to work strategically with others for the benefit of our region.”
The cluster’s launch will take place midway through a conference “Building a Sustainable UK Diagnostic Sector: Meeting the Challenge” jointly hosted by The Cluster, University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire, and the University of Warwick.
The launch will include a speech from Henriette Lyttle-Breukelaar, director of economic strategy for the Greater Birmingham & Solihull LEP.
