Medicus EPR integrates directly with X-on Health’s Surgery Connect in first for UK GPs

Digital front door provider, X-on Health, has announced a major milestone for primary care with the full integration of Surgery Connect with the Medicus electronic patient record (EPR) platform.
The partnership introduces a native, high-performance interface that eliminates the historical friction between phone systems and clinical records.
The integration provides users with immediate access to patient lookup and click-to-call functionality directly within the Medicus interface, removing the need for cumbersome third-party overlays or manual data entry.
As General Practice faces increasing pressure to optimise resources, this integration is designed to support the performance of the entire practice, from reception and administrative teams to clinical staff by providing a faster, more reliable data flow.
“This first-of-its-kind integration shows what can happen “when smart, pragmatic innovators actually collaborate, GP workflows get supercharged and the tech just… works.” according to Dave Triska, a GP Partner, who has already implemented this technology.
As Medicus is the first new core GP system in England in over 25 years, this partnership could revolutionise workflows and truly, support GP practices and Integrated Care Boards looking to modernise workflows in line with NHS England’s digital transformation ambitions.
Melissa Lato, Product Director at X-on Health, said: “Our partnership is about more than just connectivity; it’s about optimising performance for the entire practice.
“This integration is currently simple but these features are the foundation of a much broader vision.
“Moving forward, we are committed to deepening the link between the medical record and the phone system. This is the first step in a roadmap toward a more integrated offering.”
Tim Gray, Chief Product Officer at Medicus said: “This integration is a prime example of why “native” is better.
“Practices need their front door channels to be tightly integrated with the EPR that powers their clinical workflows and technology that “just works”.
“It’s been amazing to see the hard work of our teams receive positive feedback from the practices we all work so hard for.”
