UK health tech pioneers reunite at Arab Health 2022

The UK Pavilion is heading back to Arab Health 2022, one of the world’s leading platforms for international trade in the healthcare sector, representing a huge opportunity for HealthTech companies to showcase the very best of British. Health Tech World’s Arab Health correspondent Julia Price speaks with this year’s UK Pavilion organiser.

Technology and innovation are set to take centre stage at this year’s exhibition, where the global healthcare industry is set to unite again from January 24-27, 2022, under the theme ‘United by business, forging ahead’.

Taking place at the Dubai World Trade Centre, the exhibition and congress provide an unrivalled platform for the world’s leading manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors to meet the medical and scientific community from the Middle East and beyond.

New to 2022, DIT and the ABHI will be combining programmes and hosting one stand – the UK Pavilion stand at Arab Health. Together we will be supporting UK companies in their international strategies for the MENA markets. 

Organised by the ABHI – the industry association for the health technology sector in the UK – the UK Pavilion will highlight how UK developments are transforming the lives of patients and clinicians across the globe.

ABHI international managing director Paul Benton said: “The health technology sector has matured; devices, diagnostics and digital technologies have become increasingly sophisticated and treatment for the likes of cancer and stroke are now quicker and more targeted, supporting improved survival rates and life expectancy.

“The UK is leading the way, and this will be demonstrated by the number of Digital Health companies exhibiting at this year’s Arab Health, alongside the array of medical device manufacturers and diagnostics suppliers.

“As people live longer, we are experiencing a rise in chronic conditions, meaning there is a bigger emphasis on our ability to predict, identify, diagnose and treat patients as early as possible to prevent, manage or halt disease progression.

“The ABHI UK Pavilion provides an important platform for the country’s trailblazing HealthTech companies to showcase their technologies and talent and the important contribution they can make when it comes to tackling some of these big challenges.”

The ABHI UK pavilion will once again be the state-of-the-art simulated operating theatre. It celebrates collaborations between healthcare providers, clinicians and healthcare technology companies, allowing visitors to watch Britain’s best surgeons in action.

Benton said: “The ABHI operating theatre, housed in the ABHI support stand, provides a fantastic platform for world-class UK clinicians to showcase their skills and leading providers to engage and educate visitors.

“It is a pleasure to be able to demonstrate the UK’s advanced capabilities to a global audience at Arab Health.”

Arab Health 2022 will take place from January 24 – 27, 2022, at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Throughout the show, the ABHI UK Pavilion will be located in Hall 2, where attendees will be able to see the best of UK HealthTech being demonstrated.
