ABHI UK Pavilion at Arab Health 2023 hailed a success

The ABHI UK Pavilion at Arab Health 2023 saw its most vibrant and successful year to date, with record attendance confirmed by the organisers.

80 percent of exhibitors joining the Association of British HealthTech Industries (ABHI) UK delegation rebooked on the spot, with remaining spaces going quickly the largest medical trade show in the Middle East.

The ABHI has announced that a waiting list is now in place for next year’s exhibition, with sponsorship opportunities also available for those looking to partner and collaborate with the ABHI UK Pavilion.

A few of the successes of the 2023 edition include:

Lawton Tubes secured their single largest order to date in the company’s 105-year-old history.

The Coventry-based family-owned business announced a deal worth £2 million for the supply of air conditioning copper tubing to Saudi Arabia.

Open Medical signed its first partnership agreement in the Middle East. The British company has partnered with Tamer Group to deliver its award-winning, market-leading digital transformation solutions to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).

Respiratory Innovation Wales signed a collaborative agreement with Dubai Health City, American Spine and Wellness by Design. As part of the partnership, the University of South Wales will collaborate with an academic partner university in Dubai to develop further opportunities.

Five of the most innovative and internationally recognised healthcare providers from the NHS joined together to establish King’s International Consortium, which aims to work in partnership with external investors to deliver large-scale international healthcare projects, in markets such as the Middle East.

The London Clinic signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Emirates Health Service to further deepen collaboration on key areas such as education and training, and research and innovation.

Sonrai Analytics announced a strategic partnership with UAE-based Alliance Care Technologies to bring their transformational AI solutions to enhance cancer detection and biomarker discovery to the UAE market.

Proximie hosted an uncemented total hip replacement broadcast live to the UK Pavilion from Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. The procedure was performed in the hospital theatres by Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, Mr Zameer Shah.

This year the Association of British HealthTech Industries and the Department for International Trade joined forces to run an extensive UK programme demonstrating the importance of UK and UAE relationships – with a series of presentations, seminars and live surgical simulations taking place across all four days.

Throughout the event, the UK Pavilion – the second largest pavilion at Arab Health 2023 – highlighted the strengths of UK healthcare innovation and celebrated collaborations between healthcare providers, clinicians, NHS Trusts and healthcare technology companies.

The 48th edition of the show saw 135,880 professionals visit from 183 countries and 3,358 exhibitors in attendance – its largest to date.

The Department for International Trade also brought a number of its commercial officers to the event, in order to provide expert briefings on key global markets.

There was a 78 percent increase in these meetings from last year’s show, with 273 briefings provided.
