Obesity treatment company expands in Scandinavia through new acquisition

Digital healthcare provider for obesity treatment, Yazen, has acquired the Danish company Medstart, enabling Yazen’s expansion into Denmark.
Following Yazen’s recent completion of a €19.5m investment round, the acquisition of Medstart enables Yazen to further develop its offerings and expand into new markets.
Initially, Medstart will continue to operate under its existing brand, then in 2025, Yazen plans to launch its platform in the Danish market, gradually integrating Medstart into the Yazen brand in a bid to create a stronger care model
Fredrik Meurling, founder and CEO of Yazen, said: “We are excited to work with Medstart’s skilled team and continue our shared mission of improving the lives of people with obesity. By combining our strengths, we can provide patients in Denmark and Norway with the best possible care.”
Oliver Willacy, CEO and founder of Medstart, said: “I am impressed by Yazen’s systematic approach and their successful growth journey.
“Their model clearly demonstrates what is needed to make a real difference in obesity care. I look forward to becoming part of Yazen’s international team and continuing to grow and strengthen our position in the Danish market together.”
