Double C-loop lens proves rock-solid stability in landmark review

Centre for Sight today announced the publication of a major international review paper co-authored by its Medical Director, Mr Sheraz Daya, highlighting the stability of a unique Double C-Loop intraocular lens (IOL) design.

The peer-reviewed study — which analysed 19 clinical trials involving 1,428 eyes — concludes that the POD Double C-Loop platform provides exceptional rotational stability, ensuring precise optical alignment and better long-term vision outcomes.

This is especially important for patients receiving toric lenses to correct astigmatism, where even slight lens rotation can compromise vision.

The findings directly support Centre for Sight’s choice of premium lenses for cataract and refractive lens exchange procedures. The research shows that the Double C-Loop design minimises lens movement after surgery, leading to:

  • Improved accuracy of visual correction
  • Fewer enhancements or follow-up procedures
  • Consistently sharp vision over the long term

Sheraz Daya, Medical Director of Centre for Sight, said: “For our patients, stability means predictability — and that translates into better, long-lasting vision without the need for secondary adjustments.

“This study reinforces that our choice of lenses is the right one: they centre well, hold their position, and provide the precision we promise.

“Patients benefit from fewer interventions, faster recovery and the confidence that their vision is in safe, expert hands.”

The study also lays the foundation for future advancements in premium lens technology, with the Double C-Loop design offering a stable optical platform for next-generation lens innovations.

This research underlines Centre for Sight’s ongoing leadership in ophthalmic innovation and its commitment to evidence-based patient care.

Centre for Sight has a proven track record of global leadership in eye care innovation, from pioneering LASIK laser eye surgery, ICL lens implantation through to corneal and stem cell transplants,  introducing gold-standard ophthalmic technologies and advanced ophthalmic therapies.

Known for taking on some of the world’s most complex cases, the centre receives international referrals and is regularly trusted with cases deemed untreatable elsewhere.

Founded in 1996 by Sheraz Daya, who has performed over 35,000 cataract procedures and similar number of laser eye procedures, Centre for Sight combines world-class clinical expertise with a patient-first approach.

Rated 97% five stars on Trustpilot, the centre is known for its individualised care, safety-first protocols, and around-the-clock patient support.
