Health tech solutions company Occuity is celebrating after being awarded Tech Start-up of the Year at The Business Magazine Thames Valley Tech Awards.

The winners of the prestigious awards were announced at a glittering ceremony at Readings’ Select Car Leasing Stadium on Thursday 20.

Occuity was awarded for its ‘completely best-in-class technology, uniquely and intensely important to the future of healthcare.’

The company was recognised for showing ‘incredible intelligence and astounding business acumen.

‘Impressive investment rounds, top-level product design and marketing, plus the ability to warmly accommodate their talented team in Reading, makes this company stand out and realise their vision.’

Occuity co-founder and CEO, Dan Daly, said:

“We’re delighted to have attended tonight’s awards ceremony.

“There was really strong competition in each category we were shortlisted in and so we are delighted to have won the start-up category which is, of course, very much a team award!”

Richard Kadri-Langford, Occuity’s Head of Digital Marketing, also commented:

“Over the years I have entered many awards, but have been really impressed by the Thames Valley Tech Awards and the organisers mostly because the judging process was so very thorough.

“It included visits by members of the panel to our offices at The Blade which was quite unique and I think very valuable as it gave us the opportunity to explain and showcase our technology and the work we are doing.

“The independence and thoroughness of the process make me appreciate the award even more.”

Guests at the awards raised £3,200 for Charlbury-based Special Effect – a charity that helps transform the lives of physically disabled people across the world through the innovative use of technology.
