Surgery Intellect becomes the first ambient scribe to cover every GP consultation with full telephony and IM1 integration

X-on Health’s Surgery Intellect digital scribe is set to become the UK market’s leading ambient voice technology (AVT) solution following IM1 assurance and approval to file clinical notes directly into electronic patient records.
This dual achievement by the digital health communications provider makes Surgery Intellect, powered by TORTUS, the only digital scribe capable of directly documenting and filing both in-person and telephone consultations across the UK’s major GP clinical systems.
This unique ability to hear every consultation is projected to support approximately 30 per cent more patient interactions than any other ambient documentation tool currently available.
With IM1 assurance, the filing of AVT summaries and coding is allowed to write directly into the patient notes, once it has been approved by a clinician.
The approval ensures that practices can adopt X-on Health’s AVT solution and use it immediately to update patient consultations.
Alongside the additional compliance and assurance steps both X-on Health and TORTUS have in place, this means that practices can be confident of the safety and assurance for both in-person and telephone consultations, unlike other solutions that are limited to face-to-face support.
This enables Surgery Intellect, powered by TORTUS, to file AVT summaries, approved by a clinician directly into EMIS/Optum, and TPP EPR systems. A deeper direct integration with Medicus is also available.
AVT reduces administrative burden, frees up clinician time, improves documentation quality and patient care by securely transcribing consultations directly into the EPR.
It is being backed by NHS England for wider use in GP surgeries.
X-on Health’s Intellect platform is a voice-enabled AI assistant that uses AVT to listen, transcribe and code consultations in real time.
Intellect will integrate AVT into primary care records and workflows across all major systems, enabling end-to-end automation from patient conversation to coded clinical entry.
“We’re committed to safe, compliant and fully interoperable automation in NHS primary care,” said Derrick Measham, Innovation Director at X-on Health.
“Integration with leading clinical systems and IM1 assurance to file gives clinicians more time to focus on their patients.
“Crucially, by covering telephone and in-person consultations, we’re providing a truly end-to-end integrated solution unmatched in the market.”
