MedTech Europe announces new CEO

Trade association MedTech Europe has announced the appointment of Oliver Bisazza as its new Chief Executive Officer, with effect from January 2, 2023.

Bisazza will succeed Serge Bernasconi who has announced his retirement.

The new CEO has more than 15 years of professional experience in Brussels, including industrial policies roles in trade associations representing medtech and other industries.

Prior to joining the trade association in 2017, Bisazza worked at medical devices manufacturer Medtronic, as Director of Regulatory Policy for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region.

MedTech Europe Chairman of the Board, Rob ten Hoedt, said:

“We are very pleased that Oliver Bisazza has accepted the position of CEO of MedTech Europe.

“He has a broad and quite unique experience, from both the industry and different trade associations, as well as a solid knowledge of the key dossiers we are involved with and of the EU institutions, which we believe will be very valuable for our organisation and industry.”

Oliver Bisazza said:

“Medical technologies continue to offer vast and exciting opportunities to help meet the social, economic and healthcare challenges facing Europe.

“I am looking forward, with the support and engagement of MedTech Europe’s team, its Board and members, to ensuring access to medical technologies to patients, healthcare professionals and healthcare systems in Europe and the rest of the world.”
